Marian is a special person. The way she takes care of her baby sister when her mother gets sick is remarkable. She is willing to give up her life to take care of her sister and father. You won't be able to stop reading this book.
The characters are all trying to get though a normal way or life, even though there is a lot of things that are far from normal. The author has done a wonderful job of telling her story.
Although way to short, this is bk 2 in the continuing story about Marian and Thomas. Marian's mother has sent to a sanitarium for depression and anxiety as explained in bk 1. Missing Mama was simply about Marian having to take over the entire household chores as well care for her baby sister and Dad. it is also the struggles and doubts that she has as to whether she will be able to have a "normal" life as far as courtship and marriage.
Cant wait to finish with bk. 3. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the Amish stories.

Marian has a conflict of emotions when a Marian's mother is sick . Wanting her mother to get better but also realize her faith is challenged.
I would recommend people to read this to see what the Amish goes Thur when there love one I. The hospital
